Adventures in the cold!

Last night Jenn, Natalie and I checked out the young adults group at a church in Winnipeg. We’d never been to the church and we didn’t know anyone there but we were excited to meet some new people and have a good time. We googled the directions and the time it started, got dressed and headed out for a half hour drive. Then when we got there, the moment we walked into the room this guy said “Oh! Are you girls coming tobogganing too?” Oh dear. We had no idea they were going tobogganing! We were in jeans, nice jackets, Jenn was wearing heels...and it was super cold out and none of us had hats or anything. But, we didn’t want to be lame and just go home and waste the super long drive... and we’re pretty adventurous so we decided to go along to the hill and check it out. The hill was pretty sweet. People had brought giant inner tubes and they all piled on and zoomed down the hill. Natalie joined them, but Jenn and I sat freezing at the top. Better to be dry and cold than covered in snow and cold! We hung out for like an hour and Jenn and I met some really cool girls, but by the end I couldn’t feel my toes and my legs were so numb I could barely make them walk. Natalie destroyed her knees from bailing when the group almost hit a tree, and Jenn was struggling in the snow with her heels. The night could have been considered a failure, but we actually had a lot of fun and met some cool people and they invited us to come back! What an adventure!
