We are not in Manitoba any longer! After a long 8-hour drive to SK, we are settled in at our billets here in Melfort for 2 nghts. Kylagh, Tracey, Heather and myself are just hanging out. The drive was a great start to of the tour, lots of fun and good conversations...among other things. We had a near-miss with a deer early this am as I was driving in the dusk along the prairies. I looked ahead and saw a deer standing on the middle of the road. I managed to stay steady and it took off. Thank God for the driver's training at the beginning of the season! It was defiantly a bit a scare for me.
I love the billets house we are at right now. With a family of five children there is never a dull moment. My family is the same size so I feel right at home... just hanging out in the kitchen and playing with the kids. Of course in my fam we are all grown up now and moving on with our lives. But it feels like back in the day when being a child was so care-free. I miss when I was entertained with just a single toy or fighting with my brother and sisters over a marble. Just typical kid things. I can only look ahead to the future when I will build my own family and share the precious moments of endearment with my children. This house just brings that special sense to me and I cannot wait to get to that point in my life!
